Easy to buy miles

Needed some extra United MileagePlus miles for a flight. Bought them here. Process was quick and straightforward. Miles showed up in my account pretty fast, within an hour or so. No issues at all.

Good for Marriott points

I bought 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points last week. The transaction itself was smooth on the website, very easy to navigate the purchase page. I received a confirmation email immediately. The points took about two days to actually show up in my Marriott account, which was a bit longer than I hoped, but within the timeframe they mentioned. Customer support was helpful when I asked about the delay; they responded to my email within a few hours. Overall, the points were added correctly and I got a good bonus on the purchase, so I'm satisfied.

Worth it with the bonus

I was looking to get some Air Canada Aeroplan points, but only if I could find a good deal. Points.com had a pretty decent bonus offer going on when I checked, like an extra 50% on points purchased. That made the cost per point much more reasonable. I ended up buying 30,000 points and got the bonus automatically applied. The whole checkout process was simple enough, nothing confusing. My points arrived in my Aeroplan account in less than a day. For the price I paid with the bonus, it felt like a good value. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Consistent service for Avios

This isn't my first time using Points.com, and they've been reliable. I've bought British Airways Avios from them several times now. This latest purchase was for 20,000 Avios with a bonus offer. The experience was consistent with previous times-easy website, quick payment processing. The Avios usually hit my BA account within a day, sometimes a bit longer, but never more than 48 hours. I keep coming back because it's a solid way to top up my balance without any fuss.

Got my Southwest points

So I needed some Southwest Rapid Rewards points for a trip, and I saw this site. Figured I'd give it a shot. It was actually pretty easy to use. Just clicked around, picked how many points I wanted, and paid. The points showed up in my account a few hours later. No drama, no weird pop-ups, just got what I needed. It felt pretty secure too, which is always good when you're putting in card details. Overall, decent experience, got my points.

Hey guys, thinking about buying some Marriott Bonvoy points for an upcoming trip. How long does it usually take for them to hit my account after purchase?

T Tara Beaumont 2 months ago
Mine showed up almost instantly last time I bought some Marriott points. Maybe a few minutes tops.

G Greg Marsh 2 months ago
Yeah, it's pretty quick. I think the site says it can take up to 24 hours but I've never waited more than an hour for any of the programs I've used.

Can you actually transfer points between, say, Delta and American through Points.com? Or is it just buying more points for one program?

R Rachel Y. 2 months ago
Nah, you can't transfer between competing airlines like that. You can sometimes exchange points between *some* programs but not usually direct competitors. It's mostly for topping up specific accounts.

M Megan 2 months ago
Not really. You buy points for a specific program. There's a 'transfer' service but that's usually for moving your own points to someone else's account within the *same* program.

My transaction just got declined for some reason and my card is fine. Anyone else have this happen?

C Colin 2 months ago
Happened to me once. My bank flagged it as suspicious activity because it was a large international transaction. Had to call them to approve it.

Could be your bank, yeah. Or sometimes if you're buying a ton of points, they have daily limits or something on the site itself. Try a smaller amount or a different card if you have one.

Anyone know if Points.com is legit? Like, are these real miles or some kind of scammy thing?

J Josh Lindqvist 2 months ago
Totally legit. It's the official platform most airlines and hotels use to sell points. Been using them for years without an issue.

Nah, it's real. They partner directly with all the major loyalty programs. You're buying actual miles/points, not some grey market stuff.

I saw a few sites like The Points Guy mention bonuses. Do I need a special code or something to get those bonus miles when buying?

N Neil 1 month ago
Usually, the bonus is just applied automatically if you buy during a promotional period. You just go through the site and it adds them. No code needed.

P Paula Lindqvist 1 month ago
Most of the time, the link from The Points Guy or whatever will take you directly to the offer page and the bonus is baked in. Very rarely do you actually need a separate code, in my experience.

Was looking at buying some United miles but I see they often have bonus offers. Should I wait for a sale or just buy now? Any idea when the next bonus might pop up?

B Brett Walsh 2 months ago
They almost always have some kind of bonus going on, especially for United. I'd check their promotions page. They cycle through them pretty regularly.

Hard to say exactly when, but if you're not in a rush, waiting for a 50-100% bonus is definitely worth it. Makes a huge difference.

Thinking of buying some British Airways Avios but worried about buyer's remorse. What's their refund policy like if I change my mind?

C Cody D. 2 months ago
Points purchases are generally non-refundable. Like, once they're in your account, they're yours. Pretty standard for these kinds of things.
4
R Rachel Osei 2 months ago
Yeah, I wouldn't count on a refund. They make it pretty clear that all sales are final. Make sure you're set on buying them before you click confirm.
